Honee Hess

Honee Hess joins Art Vérité from a career in the visual arts, including over 25 years at the Worcester Art Museum, where she was Director of Education and oversaw programs in art, art history, and humanities for all ages.

She continued her passion for the arts as Executive Director of the Worcester Center for Crafts, one of the oldest public craft centers in the nation. However, her first “bottom of the ladder” position at the New Orleans Museum of Art was what introduced her to museum education. From New Orleans, she went on to a position as Curator of Education at the University of Iowa Museum of Art, where she discovered African Art and its many varied forms; which, as she would put it, changed her life. In this profession, she discovered that her love of objects and their stories could coexist with her passion for helping people discover the best in themselves (sometimes called “education”).

A native of New Orleans, Honee is now researching and discovering the history of her own childhood so she, like Art Vérité, can discover the complexities of diversity while helping others be the best they can be.
