Carlos Rolón: Working With Assistants

The son of first-generation Puerto Rican immigrants, artist Carlos Rolón creates work that pulls from his family history, culture, and other personal experiences. As his career and international recognition grew, so did the necessity to hire artist assistants in his studio practice. The expansion led to being taken advantage of by other artists, copyright infringement, and broken relationships to a more structured and healthy studio practice.
